Programme context and purpose
The Women in Renewable Energy (WIRE) Fellowship Programme supports women professionals to strengthen their leadership, technical capability and influence in the Caribbean’s clean energy transition. Implemented by the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE) under ASERT 2030 / RCSA Pillar VI, the programme connects professional development with regional exchange and practical action.
Why WIRE matters
The Caribbean’s clean energy transition needs women’s expertise to inform the decisions, institutions and practices shaping the sector. Meaningful participation requires opportunities to lead, communicate technical knowledge and build professional relationships. WIRE responds by connecting technical learning with leadership development and strategic visibility, helping women professionals strengthen their contribution and influence.
The 2026 Fellowship
The 2026 cohort comprises 13 Fellows undertaking leadership coaching, professional visibility development, guided technical training, a Canada study tour and a Fellow-led Call to Action. Coaching supports workplace practice, while professional exchange connects learning with Caribbean realities. Mandatory youth and STEAM engagement within the Call to Action extends the programme’s reach to emerging interests and future participation in the sector.
